Week four content
You will find below the yoga practise as video and the sound journey audio which is also downloadable onto your device’s audio library e.g. itunes. The sound journey works best with headphones or decent speakers and ideally you have the volume at 50-70%, it really doesn’t have to be loud to be effective, in fact the body likes moderate volume.
A restful, listening yoga practise including moon salutation, meditation and restorative yin postures.
Deepening practise
I recommend that you consider how much time you are giving to the rest you actually need at this time? You could include some of the deep rest practises daily we did last night - the moon salutation, yin and restorative postures are guided in the video above. I will be putting up a 20 mins rest sequence shortly (this Friday) and that could be a good daily ‘go to’ with similar yin/ restorative postures plus mudras and a calming form of alternate nostril breath.
If you are finding sleep patterns are challenging, try to create a wind down ritual in the evening with some of these practises or the short sound journey above before (or in) bed (it has a lot of earth gong which many people find soporific/ grounding). Other tips include switching off technology an hour or two before bed, drinking a gentle herbal tea (I love the Celestial sleepy time blend), reading something gentle and inspiring, journalling, spending some time quietly looking at the emerging moon, sky and stars (especially if you look into screens all day).
I am sure you have your own tried and tested ‘deep rest’ resources and sometimes it is just about creating the intention and space to attend to our needs.
